You need to know the Tax Return filing deadline, otherwise... The 2021/22 Tax Return filing period has begun. In recent years, the penalties imposed by the Inland Revenue Department on late filing of tax returns have become increasingly severe. Late filing of tax returns will result in penalty, tax assessment, or even court trial or tax investigation. it is waste money and waste time, so please pay attention to the following tax filing deadlines and complete your Tax Returns as soon as possible and before the deadlines.
Employers Return: Expired and a penalty notice has been issued by the IRD. If you have employed employees from April 21 to March 22, but have not yet reported employee salaries, please report as soon as possible, otherwise IRD will take further action.
Salaries tax: they are all overdue and should be filed as soon as possible.
Self-employed person (with unlimited company): If no tax representative is appointed, it will expire on September 1 of this year; if a tax representative is appointed, the deadline can be extended to November 1 of this year (our company can serve as the tax representative).
Profits Tax (Limited Company, Partnership): Year ended date is before 12/31/21: long overdue, penalty or assessed tax notice can be received at any time and must be dealt with as soon as possible. For companies whose year-ended date is December 31, 21, the deadline is September 15 this year; For companies whose year-ended date is March 31, 2022, the deadline is November 15 this year;
If you receive a penalty notice, you will have the opportunity to be exempted only under very special reasons (such as illness or absence from Hong Kong, etc.).
Objections must be lodged within one month of receipt of the tax assessment notice, and tax returns and/or audited accounts must be submitted for the objection to be valid. Because the preparation of accounting and auditing are takes time, usually cannot be completed within a month, so it should be processed as soon as possible.
